Moriya Town - Iberaki Prefecture 22nd - 2nd Nov 97 Glenn Davidson was in Japan for one month working with residents from Moriya town and Hitachinaka City. Both places have their own unique histories and are currently undergoing major changes, the workshops were established to look at the nature and patterns in developments and from these to uncover a geometry of relationships and from the research to create an architectural metaphor in paper . For the participants the workshop, for the first time, afforded an opportunity to look at (we walked around the area as a group) and think about developments in their surroundings and to contemplate the impact of changes bought on by the intense pace of life in modern Japan. The residency was organised and funded by Spiral Gallery and Iberaki Prefecture and Hitachinaka City council .
